When is a wedding cake not a wedding cake?

Cake POPS are a wonderful new phenomenon from a clever mother/daughter-run bakery in London. Delectable little cakes on sticks that are both cute and completely chocolaty delicious. You could use them either as an alternative to a traditional wedding cake or as wedding favours. Either way, they would be a talking - actually more than that -a FOCAL point at your reception! We love that they are new and just a little bit different and quirky.
At a wedding recently the Pop Bakery had a special request from the bride's mother and recreated the entire family in POPs, from grandfather down to newest edition, baby Alfie. Such a great idea and possibly the ultimate in personalization?

Elvis, geishas, fashion, music ... just some of the POPS available mail order but if you want something bespoke that's no problem. In fact Clare says that most of their wackiest design ideas come from their customers! Commissioned items can be managed last minute - but much better if you give at least a week's notice. The Pop Bakery also has a book coming out in March.

Now, will Wills and Kate choose a traditional wedding cake? Or something a little more funky .... ?
