A Beautiful Bridal Veil ...

Ever dreamed of wearing a veil on your wedding day? Sometimes a veil is just so, so right. Sometimes a veil is just so, so right.

Ever dreamed of wearing a veil on your wedding day?

Sometimes a veil is just so, so right. As in these photographs of Sari and Mark's wedding day, photographed by Tonya Beaver photography.

Lace Detail On A Wedding Veil

I love the detailing around the edge of the veil - it's simple but just adds a certain edge of sophistication. Sari's dress is strapless and classic and the veil gives it a very chic tone. A wedding veil can also look wonderful in the photographs - ask your photographer to take some shots with the light behind.

We've written about choosing a wedding veil before - and whether you should go for something short or the full-on cathedral length version.

Think about your wedding veil colours too - a veil doesn't have to be white. It can be cream, or if you're going for a more vintage vibe, look for something in antique lace or with a tea-coloured effect. Antique Lace Heirlooms has a wonderful selection of vintage veils. Love By Susie is worth a look too.

Why is a Wedding Veil Traditional For A Bride?

One school of thought is that a bride covered her face until after she was married, to prevent the bridegroom backing out of the arrangement! Hopefully you two know one another rather better than that and today a veil is seen as an accessory and finishing touch to a bridal gown.

Anyway, enjoy Sari and Mark's wedding. I like the photograph of the ringbearer best!
